About us

graeme--di-bw-card.jpgIn 1999 Graeme & I went to a Nutritionist for a live blood analysis and discovered that it was time to improve our eating habits. After the success of our first book, “The Twenty Minute Vegetarian, ”we decided create a book which gave you a step by step guideline on how to shop, cook and prepare food for a six week detox.
‘Turn Over a New Leaf’ was the result.

melissa_head.jpgSometimes the reasons why we do things are not always apparent in the beginning, but not long after publishing Turn Over a New Leaf, Melissa, our Daughter, came home from working overseas for 4 years. In that time Melissa had become quite ill and was suffering from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. She could hardly get around, so she started on the detox program. It took a while for her health to return but four years later Melissa is enjoying feeling well again.. Now she is working in our businesses as Director of Media and Marketing. Melissa’s has a lot of experience in the film industry on both side of the camera and is using these skills to produce our on- line Cooking Show and Vega DVDs.

disy_xman_graeme.jpgBy the second year many of our customers were asking about books for kids, so we started thinking about what sort of a format would we create to help kids learn about healthy eating. We then wrote ‘Real Food Power for Kids’. Like I mentioned before, there are no coincidences in life. Just as we were thinking about a book for little kids, Stacey, our youngest daughter announced she was having a baby. We were all thrilled of course and that gave us the incentive it get on with writing the now popular book, ‘Vega and the Magic Apple.’.. I asked Stacey what she would name the baby if it was a boy. She said Xavier, so that become the character in the book. Stacey is also a very talented person and she designs and manages our websites and creates all of our advertising materials etc. Xavier is only one  to date and is unaware of his fame. He loves watching the Vega DVD and enjoys chewing the edges off the book.

latest-vegetarian-in-the-family.jpgEven the family pets are in on the act and Sari, the dog, loves the occasional crunchy carrot or celery stick. It’s amazing to think how this whole health food thing has grown in the past seven years. Our  family has embraced this new lifestyle and is looking and feeling good all the time. So why don’t you Turn Over a New Leaf and get your family on a health kick for 2008.

Good health from our family to yours
Regards Di, Graeme, Melissa, Stacey, Xavier and Sari.
